The White House Provincial Kitchen in Hahndorf is hosting the Fringe show Secret Garden Cinema, an outdoor film screening of classic and modern musicals.
Set in the courtyard behind the restaurant, audience members can lounge on chairs, bean-bags, blankets, grass or bales of hay, and enjoy a movie under the stairs. You can even camp out in a gazebo if that takes your fancy. The restaurant has set up an impressively large Big Screen, as well as decking out the surroundings with cute little fairy candles.
While the screening of the movie I saw, Moulin Rouge, had approximately 30 viewers, the courtyard can hold up to 120, with room to stretch your legs. They also supply tea & coffee, a gourmet sausage sizzle, organic popcorn and beer on tap.
The White House holds a movie night every Friday throughout summer and autumn, featuring a range of movie genres. For more information visit thewhitehouseadelaidehills.com.au
